The biggest question for customers who find themselves needing an appliance repair is who to call?
Here are the three questions to ask a service company before booking the job. (besides “can you be here today?”)
1) Are you licensed and insured? Make sure any company you are considering is licensed, bonded and insured. If they are not, they could damage your appliance or your home and you’re stuck covering the bill!
2) Factory Authorization? Find out if the repair company is factory authorized. This is important for your safety, as being factory authorized means that anyone working for the company have been background screened, drug screened, and has been trained on the appliance they’re repairing by a certified trainer. Again, companies that are factory authorized will publicize this aspect of the company, so if you don’t see it listed, ask about it. If your current company is not factory authorized, find one that is!
3) Experience. Consider the experience of the company. It is not just about many years they have in the business but more about continuing education. Someone with 30 years of experience may not be able to fix your brand new appliance due to the complexity of appliances made today verses 30 years ago, or even 10 years ago! Factory authorized companies again, are usually the best equipped to handle the newest appliances.
Licensing, factory authorization and experience are the three criteria that you should look for in a service company because the chances are they will do a good job in getting your appliance repair done correctly.
